The Henry Nowak murder has rightly drawn attention to the Critical Race Theory underpinning and infecting police training, and much more, within our institutions. But perhaps the focused coverage is in danger of missing that the same cult ideology governs every aspect of what passes for British institutions now.
The public face of all the various manifestations of this “progressive” religion is about compassion, justice, and similar buzz-words intended to weaponise the goodwill of the majority (goodwill left over from the Victorian moral revolution I described recently, since you don’t find it makes any headway in Gaza or China). The flip-side of this is the use of similarly weaponised buzz-words against those who see through the façade – far-right, fascist, denier, Islamophobe, etc. The aim is to fool moral people into false moral judgements.
This kind of appeal to public empathy applies not only to race, but to deviant sexuality, gender confusion, climate alarmism, veganism, pandemic alarmism, mass-immigration, Islamisation, and anything else I’ve missed out.
The secret, or at least obfuscated, ideology underlying this public face is the Neomarxist global utopia, to which end all these issues are ultimately directed. Much has been said about what the truth is about this: I include here any elite conspirators, non-conspiratorial idealists and useful idiots, cynics knowing there is money and power to be gained from revolutions, and anyone else who wants that ill-defined and implausible Shangri-la.
I should include the demonic powers behind this movement separately, I suppose, though Critical Theory in its widest sense teaches clearly that the greatest barrier to achieving the Global State is Christianity, and its ideological forebear, Judaism. The progressives’ hatred of the Jews, though – actually a small and threatened people rather than the hook-nosed power-mongers of Candace Owens, Islam and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion – reveals the “principalities and powers” behind the Cult.
My main subject today, though, might be seen either as the most powerful weapon of the Cult towards their ends, or as Satan’s most destructive ploy against humanity. And that is that every branch of this ideology relies on inducing its victims to deny self-evident truth, and thereby to become less than human.
Now it’s true that every false belief-system is, by definition, a denial of the truth. But the time-honoured ways of achieving that are rewards and punishment, distraction from inconvenient evidence, and group compliance. All these, as we know, are evident in the prevalent ideology. But as George Orwell explored in 1984 (“How many fingers?”) getting people to deny the very evidence of their senses and reason destroys that core witness to truth, the soul, and makes everyone a friend of Big Brother. There can be no utopia without that.
I make a brief diversion at this point to the piece I wrote on “reality” here. Whatever view a Christian takes on the nature of reality, Berkeleian or otherwise, nevertheless we believe it was created by God to communicate truth. Unlike the Darwinian naturalist we need not fear that our faculties arose purely for survival, without reference to truth.
But the Critical Theorist, either from materialist conviction that the mind is a blank slate, or from Satanic hatred of God and man, invariably seeks to create utopia by dismantling obvious truth. So if we take as an example the police force’s crass Critical Race Theory training, it depends on the belief that every white police officer, and the naked white emperor teaching the course, has an unconscious bias against those of another race (“race” being undefined and undefinable, actually).
Regardless of everything else taught in the anti-racism course, then because it is unconscious this alleged bias is completely inaccessible to the officer – or to anyone else, which makes it speculative mumbo-jumbo. But once the claim is accepted, either through belief in the training, or fear of job loss, then the only way for the individual to deal with it in practice is to manufacture a compensatory conscious bias towards those perceived as non-white. Since the unconscious bias doesn’t actually exist, it is as unmeasurable as the degree of conscious prejudice required to correct it. So there is no way of knowing (common sense being denied and often punished) whether in leaving a dying teenager in handcuffs you may still be unduly biased towards his “white privilege.” How can you expect people to use common sense when you have trained them to dismiss common sense as prejudice?
Similarly, it is self-evident that black on white racism is a reality, but the CRT training of judges says it is not even possible. Therefore, the infamous Nottingham murders could not be treated as racially aggravated… because the judge had lost his mind to the ideology.
In the area of gender, most of us, I think, assume that issues like allowing autogynephiliac men into women’s toilets is about accommodating to their beliefs. But in fact the original gender theorists seriously proposed that it is centuries of patriarchal Christian conditioning that makes us perceive biological differences between the sexes at all, to the point even that identifying a baby as a girl or boy is delusional. Alvin Plantinga or C. S. Lewis’s suggestion that evolution could not guarantee the veridical reliability of our senses was intended to shame Darwinians into reconsidering their theory: but the gender theorists take it so seriously that they believe the men in women’s sports actually are women: somehow their genitalia are illusory products of the Patriarchy.
Climate alarmism is based on crappy modelling. But the immediate appeal of the alarmists is to our immediate experience. We are supposed to see catastrophic sea level rise even when the beach we frequented as a child looks exactly the same when we’re seventy, apart from the wind farm out to sea. We are supposed to forget the brown fields of the 1976 heatwave, and to ignore the fact that if today is the hottest, wettest, or windiest day since 1880, then the weather was no better back then.
Likewise with Net Zero: scientific and economic arguments are for the educated, but we are actually expected to believe that renewables will reduce our bills even as they become ever more unaffordable.
2020 gave us, allegedly, the worst pandemic since Spanish Flu or the Black Death, and we were conditioned to see death all around, even if we didn’t actually know many people who’d even been ill with it, and if most of the local deaths were in care homes turned into concentration camps. The deceptions about testing, case-numbers, mortality-modelling and vaccines depended on our lack of professional knowledge: but the experience of the epidemic, when we didn’t have death wagons passing with “Bring Out Your Dead!” tannoys, was about telling us to deny what we actually saw around us. Nearly everyone was a case – yet most of them never even had a sore throat.
The same goes for the other dogmas of the cult. We hear only of repeated Islamist atrocities, but are told to believe that the greatest terrorist threat is White Supremacism (and that Islam is a religion of peace, a religion of peace, a religion of peace).
We are told there is no two-tier policing, but noticed the uneven deployment of helmeted riot-police years before we heard that the police are trained that people of different ethnicities should not be treated equally.
We are told that gay, single, or otherwise non-traditional families are as good as, or better than, Mum, Dad and the kids, when we can see the problematic outcomes even without consulting the research data.
We are told we are in the middle of a mass-extinction from climate change, but nobody can show us a single example species from the supposed thousands. And our world remains green and vibrant.
The sad thing is that so many of us seem perfectly happy to believe “them” rather than our own lying eyes. Perhaps it was ever thus: not too long ago people paid psychiatrists large fees to tell them they wanted to castrate their father and rape their mother, when they didn’t. And even now, millions believe that money-gabbing prophets who never got a prediction right are anointed by the Holy Spirit. Human beings seem prone to auto-lobotomy.
You could reply, I suppose, that we have no sense of being lost sinners until some preacher tells us the gospel. Isn’t that the same as being told we have an unconscious racial bias? Well, no, actually. Conversion comes because that accusation from God’s word makes us see ourselves as we really are for the first time. In fact, it often tells us what we already knew, but would not admit to ourselves. Either way, what was subconscious becomes conscious, and enables us to find healing and forgiveness.
Unconscious bias however, like all the other woke denials of reality, remains unconscious, because it never existed in the first place. But for that very reason, it can never be washed away: “Because your sins are as white as snow, they will always remain in your scarlet blood.” Strange how, in the prevalent ideology, the unforgiveable sins are the sins that don’t actually exist.
